Guangdong Chemical Industrial Park Sewage Pipe Network Automatic Monitoring Project

Project Background
At present, numerous chemical industrial parks are confronted with the following pain points:
Complex pipe networks posing investigation difficulties: Underground pipe networks within parks are highly intricate, with incomplete rain‑sewage separation and widespread mixed‑connection and mis‑connection problems.
Illegal discharge and regulatory blind spots: Certain enterprises discharge high‑concentration wastewater through rainwater pipe networks at night or during rainfall events, which can hardly be detected in real‑time by conventional manual inspections.
Delayed accident early‑warning: In case of fire or leakage incidents, the absence of automatic shut‑off and diversion mechanisms tends to cause pollution spread.
Therefore, constructing a full‑coverage, fully‑networked and fully‑automatic sewage‑pipe‑network water‑quality monitoring system is an urgent demand for guaranteeing park environmental safety.
Solution
Leveraging IoT, big‑data, automatic control and water‑quality sensing technologies, this project deploys automatic water‑quality monitoring stations at major sewage outlets, rain‑water discharge outlets, critical pipe‑network nodes and enterprise pre‑treatment discharge outlets across the chemical industrial park. The system achieves 24‑hour real‑time online monitoring of pipe‑network water quality. By establishing a “source‑process‑terminal” monitoring network, it realizes second‑level alarms for water‑quality anomalies, rapid traceability of pollution sources, and linkage control of emergency valves, so as to build a smart‑water‑affairs supervision platform.
Monitored parameters: COD, ammonia nitrogen, pH, TDS, chloride ion, sulfide, manhole‑cover status, liquid level.
Driven by real‑time monitoring, the system triggers alarms within the initial minutes of pollution accidents. Compared with conventional periodic manual sampling, automatic monitoring boosts supervision efficiency by multiple orders of magnitude and effectively curbs illegal discharge and leakage by enterprises.
